Last year's IfdaKamp festival, produced by local rockers Ifdakar in beautiful Whispering Hills was a smashing success, showcasing some of the regions best and brightest emerging artists. IfdaKamp 2012, scheduled for the weekend of June 14-16 was off and running with confirmed and announced headliners Roster McCabe, Steez, the Coop, and of course Ifdakar. That is until Manitowoc County, where the festival was to be held, suddenly changed their zoning allowances, making it illegal for the festival to operate there. A personal note and more detailed explanation from the band and organizers can be found at IfdaKamp.com.
In an effort to help Ifdakar recoup some of their losses due to the cancellation, and in an effort to carry on the spirit of IfdaKamp, we’re throwing a party at the Majestic on Saturday June 16th featuring a few of the artists that were scheduled to play the festival….

Hey everybody. So we were trying to contact everyone involved before we released this terrible news but the cat appears to be out of the bag... IfdaKamp 2012 is being forced to cancel. If I could even begin to express to you how heartbreaking this is, it wouldn't even come close to explaining how awful we all feel. Believe me when I tell you that we tried everything we could to continue on, but the cards were stacked against us and we have just run out of time. Here's what happened...
A few weeks ago we found out that Manitowoc County (where Whispering Hills is) changed their zoning allowances, making it illegal for our festival to operate there. Basically, they don't want us there. That wouldn't have been such a big deal, only that our efforts to hold the event somewhere else hit roadblocks, being so close to the date. To get board members together, and committees to agree to allow the event in their area is very difficult on such short notice. But, believe me, we have tried. We have been doing nothing but trying since the day we found out. As I said, time has just run out.
Everyone who has purchased tickets, paid sponsorship or vendor fees, etc., will be reimbursed in full. We have extremely detailed records of everything, so don't worry about that. Just give us a little time to sort out this shit storm.
We will be holding an IfdaKamp fundraiser party, of sorts, Saturday, June 16th at the Majestic Theatre in Madison to kind of salvage what we can of the weekend, to help recoup some of the large amounts of money we will lose, and, most importantly, to stand up and say "you can knock us down, but we will get up." We want to thank Matt and the crew over at the Majestic for opening their doors to us for this event. We'll have a handful of IfdaKamp bands in the house, a cheap door price, and a donation 'hat' to pass around, should you choose to help us out. More details will be available as soon as we iron them out.
We want to apologize to everyone; the bands, the vendors, the sponsors, our friends and family, and all of you who have long since made plans to share the IfdaKamp experience with us this year. We just know something good has got to come out of this. It just has to. Thank you for your patience, your compassion, your support, and your love. Especially the love. We're gonna need it.

In 2004 I created my first blog under the moniker Artifishall and proceeded to use that name all over the internet. When it came time for me to register the domain I found that someone named Arti who likes to fish had already claimed it. Recently someone emailed me about buying that domain but instead of responding I looked to see if it was available, and it was. So now I have the domain that I originally wanted along with artifishalldesign.com. I'll keep them both around but having the new one gave me a reason to redesign my site around the new platform I created. A few other sites that are running on that platform include ifdakar.com, ifdakamp.com, thebiggreenfest.com, and grasshoppers-tribe.com.

We are so excited to have been able to amass the kind of talent we did for 2012! We hope you’re as excited about this line-up as we are! You might be wondering why there are less bands on the line-up this year, than there were last year, and there are a couple of reasons. One being that this year we have pared down from 3 stages to just the 2 main stages. While it was nice to be able to include more bands last year than we would have been able to otherwise, it proved very challenging to get the bands on the 3rd stage the attention they deserved. Playing a festival is great! Playing to nobody is a bummer. Trust us!!! Hopefully, with all the attention devoted to the 2 main stages, and no overlapping sets, we will be able to give the bands and the festival goers the experience of a lifetime! Perhaps over time, as the festival grows, we will revisit the 3rd stage, but for now, we’ll all be rocking the main concert bowl together all weekend!
On to the FIRE!!! We are seeking some experienced fire performers/troupes for some very cool opportunities this year. The right candidates will have some video of themselves performing, a solid resume and insurance (not necessary but it’s a huge bonus and will put you in the driver’s seat). You can contact Curt Biese at curt@ifdakar.com for more information.
Vendors… At this point we have not made an official call out seeking vendors, and we will not be doing so this year, for the most part. We are going to have just a handful of vendors this year, and that handful has already been handpicked by us. We are currently in negotiations with some vendors we consider close friends and family, and if any spots open up, we may make a call looking to fill them. Otherwise, consider all of our vending positions filled at this time.
Volunteers… We are fortunate to have such a wonderful infrastructure of staff on hand already. Our first full scale staff meeting is scheduled for early March, so, again, like the vending situation, please consider those positions filled. Emails regarding vending and volunteering will fall largely on deaf ears, not because we’re trying to ignore anyone, but because we have addressed those issues, and our needs have been satisfied. Thanks for understanding!
Tickets… IfdaKamp 2012 tickets are now available! As of now, you can purchase tickets by going to http://store.ifdakar.com. We will have hard copy tickets available soon at Sunshine Daydream on State Street in Madison, as well as other outlets in the Fox Valley. Tickets are only $60, until the price jumps to $80. Make your move now and save 25%! And remember, we will only have 500 available for sale!!
Sponsors… We have just a few sponsorship packages still available. All of our sponsorship packages include tickets to the festival, so if you are planning on going to the festival, and own a business, it really makes sense to jump on one of these packages before it’s too late. For basically the same price as buying tickets straight up, you also get all the advertising that comes with the individual packages! You can visit our Sponsorship Facebook or contact marrisa@ifdakar.com for more info. If you’re interested, act fast! We don’t expect these deals to be around for more than a week or so.
We want to take this opportunity to thank our current IfdaKamp 2012 sponsors – we are very proud to be supported by such outstanding companies! We truly couldn’t do it without each & every one of you!

We also want to take a moment to thank Joe, Charlie, Chris and Steve from Recalcitrant Productions for the amazing job they did at the IfdaKamp Pre-Party Tour Kick-Off at Tanner’s Grill & Bar a couple weeks ago. This group is truly a professional team, a class act, and amazing guys. We’re happy to have them on board as our production team for IfdaKamp 2012! They will be running sound & lights on BOTH stages, all weekend long! Really, the festival is in their hands, and we know they’re up to the challenge! Please visit www.ifdainc.com for more information, pricing & availability regarding Recalcitrant Productions.
Finally, we want to thank all of you that came out to Tanner’s to celebrate the build-up to IfdaKamp! It was an amazing night! We’re not sure how many of you were aware of this, but Saturday, February 11 was a stacked night in terms of live music, throughout the great state of Wisconsin. There were quality events in just about every nook and cranny you could find, and to have the turnout we did really says a lot about this family of friends we have around us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! And thank you to all of you that have shown your support and excitement for IfdaKamp 2012 already! Buckle up! It’s going to be a wild ride! We’re ready!!! Are you?
Stay tuned for more updates, announcements, IfdaKamp Pre-Party Tour additions, and more! And make sure to make your plans for IfdaKamp 2012 today! Big love, everyone!

Greetings one and all! It’s time for the first installment of the Official IfdaKamp 2012 Newsletter! Each month leading up to the fest, we’ll be circulating a newsletter containing announcements, information and everything else IfdaKamp!
We’re thrilled to be returning to Whispering Hills, in Kiel, WI this year! The owner of the land, Ken Tribolini, and his family were so courteous and kind to us last year - we need to once again return that favor to them this time around. Those of you who were there last year know how beautiful a place Whispering Hills is, and those who were not, you’re in for a real treat!
IfdaKamp will once again be held on the third weekend of June, with things kicking off on Thursday, June 14th, and the venue closing on the afternoon of Sunday, June 17th. Specific information regarding gate opening, ticketing and other logistical information will be available soon on ifdakamp.com...
One of the goals of IfdaKamp has always been to promote the vibrant music scene in Wisconsin, and the surrounding areas, as well as a shared love of caring for and protecting our dear Mother Earth. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again; we are so blessed to have the kind of music scene in the state that we have here. No longer is Wisconsin considered an afterthought, or just a routing option for touring bands. It’s the destination. More and more we are seeing increased activity in our state and it proves a couple things...For one, we have many venues that are kind to our scene. For another, clearly, the fans in Wisconsin are amazing. We are so proud of the work that you’ve all done, as artists of all kinds, as promoters, as booking agents, and, most importantly, as fans. Without your support the scene would not exist, and neither would IfdaKamp. We want to take this opportunity to thank Ben Vosters at Expansion Theory Productions for his tireless efforts in expanding our scene.
As the New Year begins, we are very excited to begin the lead up to IfdaKamp! Shortly, we will be releasing tickets, making artist & pre-party tour announcements, and more! For now, we are proud to release the IfdaKamp 2012 artwork, done for us by Dave Compton-Wolff!
Hopefully everyone is having a pleasant New Year & holiday season so far! Keep your eyes peeled for more information on IfdaKamp 2012! Thanks for the continued love and support, everyone! We couldn’t do it without you and we hope to see you at IfdaKamp 2012!

As we enter the month of June, the reality that the first ever IfdaKamp Festival is actually upon us, races through our minds, much like the thoughts of Christmas morning does for a child. After the years of visions, and the months of planning, it's all about to go down. Due to the cooperation of everyone involved, things have gone off mostly without a hitch. We encountered a few bumps in the road, but that was absolutely expected. There's no doubt there will be a few more, and we are ready. To say that this has been a learning experience would be an understatement. We have gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience that will no doubt serve us, as we continue to bring the state more and more events, increasing in scale and diversity. We have learned a great deal about community, social awareness, friendship and paying it forward. As we continue to grow, so will our connections to like-minded endeavors, community awareness, and social concerns. Our impact on the Earth demands at least an effort to give back, and we will heed that call. Stay tuned for more information on how you can become involved in our so-called 'Wisco Tribe'. More on that another time.... We'd like to give you a bit of information on what you can expect over the IfdaKamp weekend, June 16-18. Below you'll find news on things like gate time, gate procedure, camping info, a list of vendors, links to printable schedules, directions and more. We ask that should any information you need be left out, to drop us an email, so we can answer those questions.
Gates will open at 1pm on Thursday, June 16th. Gates will re-open around 11am, and close around 9pm on each subsequent day. Should you arrive during closed hours, someone will still be able to check you in. Just hang tight. Once you arrive at the gate, you will check in, be directed to the parking area, and directed to the camping area. You will need to walk your camping gear to the camping area, but it's really not that far at all. If you flag down one of us on a golf cart, we may even be able to give you a lift, provided our attention isn't needed elsewhere. We've got what we think is a pretty cool camping set-up. Basically, find a spot and make it your own! There is a large field in the valley near the Campground Stage that you may use, if you'd like to be close to the action. Otherwise, head into the woods and find your perfect spot. The woods are fairly dense, but we will have some areas manicured to better accommodate camping. Be advised, however, when camping in the woods, camp at your own risk! If you see the Hookah Dookah Monster, it's already too late.... RV's will be directed to a separate parking area. Bottles, fireworks, and other banned items will be confiscated upon check-in. Follow THIS LINK for Detailed Rules & Safety Info Follow THIS LINK for Detailed Directions Follow THIS LINK for Performance Schedule Follow THIS LINK for Ticketing Vendors will be directed to their designated spots, upon check-in. Vendor check-in can occur anytime Thursday morning. If you'd really rather check in Wednesday night, just let us know, and we'll be ready for you. We are pleased to present the IfdaKamp 2011 Vendors Gem Revolution Zodiac Productions C&J Catering Hippie House Trent Hoffman Vending Zach Schmidt Vending A~PATCHE Patchwork Clothing Hemp Gypsy PieceLovenGlass Scarlet Fire Catering Dirty Foot Goods Buddha's Belly Mystic Skye Originals Diablo's Cantina Vendors are allowed to be open day and night. Please patronize these fine people and their quality goods. Unauthorized vending, and 'roaming' vending will be strictly forbidden, so avoid dealing with any of those people who might slip through. We will deal with them. We are pleased to announce that we will have a disc golf course on the grounds courtesy of A Discs Throw! Hole #1 will be conveniently located underneath a marked E-Z Up. Feel free to grab a disc and try out your skills on our IfdaKamp Course! We will have 2 main fire pits; one by the Main Stages and one by the Campground Stage. Both will be raging tall and proud throughout the weekend, accented by fire dancers, and accompanied by the music. Our Main Merch Booth is where you'll be able to find things like band gear, upcoming event literature, ice, general information, performance schedules, information of our IfdaKares Charity, and more. Stop by and say hi to our friendly staff! Our amplified noise ordinance is 1am on the Main Stage and 3am on the Campground Stage. We encourage acoustic jamming throughout the weekend, however. Bring your band, or just bring your instruments! Who knows, you might even end up starting your own group right there at IfdaKamp! Let the spirit of the music flow through you, as a fan and as a performer. Grounds close at 1pm on Sunday, June 19th. Anyone left lingering after that will be forced to help clean up. Kind of kidding but kind of not. Hopefully, everyone will be respectful to the grounds and the need for cleaning up will be minimal. So, that's about it! Once again, if there are any other questions or comments, please feel free to email us anytime, and we will get back to you ASAP. We want to thank everyone involved for their help and support in turning our dream into a reality. We couldn't have done it without! We are extremely eager to get out to Whispering Hills and light the candle on what is sure to be the first of many, many IfdaKamp festivals! See you on the 16th!!!! ~ Curt, Jon, Zach & Frank
