IfdaKamp : From Dream to Reality
Thu, Jun 2, 2011 9:19 AM
As we enter the month of June, the reality that the first ever IfdaKamp Festival is actually upon us, races through our minds, much like the thoughts of Christmas morning does for a child. After the years of visions, and the months of planning, it's all about to go down. Due to the cooperation of everyone involved, things have gone off mostly without a hitch. We encountered a few bumps in the road, but that was absolutely expected. There's no doubt there will be a few more, and we are ready. To say that this has been a learning experience would be an understatement. We have gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience that will no doubt serve us, as we continue to bring the state more and more events, increasing in scale and diversity. We have learned a great deal about community, social awareness, friendship and paying it forward. As we continue to grow, so will our connections to like-minded endeavors, community awareness, and social concerns. Our impact on the Earth demands at least an effort to give back, and we will heed that call. Stay tuned for more information on how you can become involved in our so-called 'Wisco Tribe'. More on that another time.... We'd like to give you a bit of information on what you can expect over the IfdaKamp weekend, June 16-18. Below you'll find news on things like gate time, gate procedure, camping info, a list of vendors, links to printable schedules, directions and more. We ask that should any information you need be left out, to drop us an email, so we can answer those questions.
Gates will open at 1pm on Thursday, June 16th. Gates will re-open around 11am, and close around 9pm on each subsequent day. Should you arrive during closed hours, someone will still be able to check you in. Just hang tight. Once you arrive at the gate, you will check in, be directed to the parking area, and directed to the camping area. You will need to walk your camping gear to the camping area, but it's really not that far at all. If you flag down one of us on a golf cart, we may even be able to give you a lift, provided our attention isn't needed elsewhere. We've got what we think is a pretty cool camping set-up. Basically, find a spot and make it your own! There is a large field in the valley near the Campground Stage that you may use, if you'd like to be close to the action. Otherwise, head into the woods and find your perfect spot. The woods are fairly dense, but we will have some areas manicured to better accommodate camping. Be advised, however, when camping in the woods, camp at your own risk! If you see the Hookah Dookah Monster, it's already too late.... RV's will be directed to a separate parking area. Bottles, fireworks, and other banned items will be confiscated upon check-in. Follow THIS LINK for Detailed Rules & Safety Info Follow THIS LINK for Detailed Directions Follow THIS LINK for Performance Schedule Follow THIS LINK for Ticketing Vendors will be directed to their designated spots, upon check-in. Vendor check-in can occur anytime Thursday morning. If you'd really rather check in Wednesday night, just let us know, and we'll be ready for you. We are pleased to present the IfdaKamp 2011 Vendors Gem Revolution Zodiac Productions C&J Catering Hippie House Trent Hoffman Vending Zach Schmidt Vending A~PATCHE Patchwork Clothing Hemp Gypsy PieceLovenGlass Scarlet Fire Catering Dirty Foot Goods Buddha's Belly Mystic Skye Originals Diablo's Cantina Vendors are allowed to be open day and night. Please patronize these fine people and their quality goods. Unauthorized vending, and 'roaming' vending will be strictly forbidden, so avoid dealing with any of those people who might slip through. We will deal with them. We are pleased to announce that we will have a disc golf course on the grounds courtesy of A Discs Throw! Hole #1 will be conveniently located underneath a marked E-Z Up. Feel free to grab a disc and try out your skills on our IfdaKamp Course! We will have 2 main fire pits; one by the Main Stages and one by the Campground Stage. Both will be raging tall and proud throughout the weekend, accented by fire dancers, and accompanied by the music. Our Main Merch Booth is where you'll be able to find things like band gear, upcoming event literature, ice, general information, performance schedules, information of our IfdaKares Charity, and more. Stop by and say hi to our friendly staff! Our amplified noise ordinance is 1am on the Main Stage and 3am on the Campground Stage. We encourage acoustic jamming throughout the weekend, however. Bring your band, or just bring your instruments! Who knows, you might even end up starting your own group right there at IfdaKamp! Let the spirit of the music flow through you, as a fan and as a performer. Grounds close at 1pm on Sunday, June 19th. Anyone left lingering after that will be forced to help clean up. Kind of kidding but kind of not. Hopefully, everyone will be respectful to the grounds and the need for cleaning up will be minimal. So, that's about it! Once again, if there are any other questions or comments, please feel free to email us anytime, and we will get back to you ASAP. We want to thank everyone involved for their help and support in turning our dream into a reality. We couldn't have done it without! We are extremely eager to get out to Whispering Hills and light the candle on what is sure to be the first of many, many IfdaKamp festivals! See you on the 16th!!!! ~ Curt, Jon, Zach & Frank
